Why Worship Arts?

You feel called to a future in worship—whether as a worship leader, artist, or songwriter.

Worship has become so important in today’s church that worship leaders are in higher demand than any other position in church leadership. Trinity Western University’s newly relaunched worship arts program is uniquely designed to help fill this need by equipping tomorrow’s worship leaders, artists, and songwriters with the theological depth, musical expertise, and practical experience they need to impact their churches, their communities, and the culture around them.

Awarded Worship Leader Magazine’s editor’s pick for top higher education programs in North America, TWU is already making waves in worship education. We are consistently recognized for high-touch instruction that is biblically grounded, historically informed, and culturally relevant. Our experienced SAMC faculty—including Senior Advisor Bart Millard, founder and lead singer of eight-time Dove Award winners MercyMe—are passionate about developing Christian leaders known as much for their strength of character and theological depth as their creative artistry.

You can choose from a range of undergraduate and certificate level programs designed to suit a variety of learning needs. TWU’s liberal arts focus means you can easily combine your worship studies with other courses in the arts, Bible/theology, history, pastoral leadership, and more. In addition, our internships, symposiums, and worship arts conference guarantee you excellent leadership development and research opportunities, and our artist-in-residence program will give you access to professional local, US, and international artists with real-industry knowledge.

And that’s not all.

As part of the TWU worship band, you will get the chance to put it all together as opening act for a national tour! We’re pretty sure you won’t find another program that offers you all this—AND a safe, welcoming campus environment in one of the most beautiful locations in the world.
