For official information from the Canadian government about travel to Canada as a student, please click here.

All individuals (even Canadian citizens) entering Canada are required to self-isolate for 14 days under the Quarantine Act. Below are details, including links to several resources for students, and instructions on how to navigate this process.

Students choosing to complete their quarantine off-campus must still register their quarantine plan with TWU, by mandate of the B.C. Ministry of Education. If this applies to you, please complete the following form to register your quarantine plan with TWU, after which (for new students) we will provide you with a Verification of Enrolment Letter which is required to enter Canada.

Current Students

Step 1: Ensure you have all required documents and are eligible to travel. Click here for more information.

Step 2: Download and fill out British Columbia’s “Support for Travellers Self-Isolation Plan.”

Step 3: Submit Quarantine Survey to TWU to register your plan.

Each student will receive an email with instructions on how to submit their quarantine plan with a link. If you did not see this email, you can also log in to your applicant portal (see “Access Quarantine Plan” button below). When you log in to your portal, you will see a COVID-19 Quarantine Plan survey link on the right-hand side of the page under Helpful Links. Please note: this is for both on- and off-campus quarantine plans.

If you have any questions or problems accessing your quarantine survey link, fill out this request form.

Step 4: A TWU staff member will review the plan and may contact you if it does not appear to meet appropriate standards.  **A Border Services Agent is the final authority on evaluating your quarantine plan and will transfer individuals to designated quarantine facilities if a plan is not deemed suitable..

Step 5: When you arrive in Canada, you must notify the university with 24 hours to confirm you are in quarantine. Please confirm your quarantine address and contact email and phone number within this notification email. Please email housing@twu.ca.

Step 6: During quarantine in Canada, you must:

  • Complete the B.C. self-assessment every day using the B.C. Self-Assessment App.
  • Submit a daily report to the TWU Public Health Nursing staff to share the results of the self-assessment.
