Student Opportunities

Research & Work Experience

Many of the professors at Trinity Western University look to their students for help with their research projects. Often there are opportunities for summer employment, working in the Biology, Geography, or Chemistry labs, as well as working out in the field for the Environmental Studies program. Additionally, as an Environmental Studies major, you are required to complete an undergraduate thesis project which gives you a great opportunity to gain some hands-on experience in whatever area interests you most. For information on the research interests of ENVS-related faculty, check out the individual pages under the Faculty & Staff link.

Other opportunities include internships with the Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies and A Rocha Canada, as well as involvement in TWU's own Salmon in the Valley education program.

Other Opportunities

Want to get out and see the world? It's only natural. At TWU you can travel and get credit for it, not to mention invaluable experience. Take TWU's own field courses in the Gulf Islands of BC and the Hawaiian Islands, Au Sable Institute courses in the US, India, and Africa, Latin American Studies Programs in Costa Rica, or Creation Care Study Program courses in Belize and the South Pacific.

For more information about any of these options, check out the Links & Resources or contact Karen Steensma.
