Gender Café, Toxic Masculinity: Is it Harming Men’s Mental Health
Short Documentary and Panel Discussion
We will watch the brief documentary “Men’s Mental Health”, in which Cori Gonzalez-Macuer explores how to change our culture to help improve the mental health, and reduce the suicide rate, of men. In Canada, men are more than three times more likely to commit suicide than women.
The viewing will be followed by a conversation, guided by Ryan Schutt and Clayton Andres.
Ryan Schutt (M.A. Cand., TWU) is the Mental Health Coordinator at The Well and Counselling Intern at the Wellness Centre; and Clayton Andres (B.A., TWU) is a writer, editor and communications specialist who will share his personal journey toward mental health.
