Tuition

The MA in Leadership Degree is comprised of 10 courses of 3 credits each and 2 capstones (LDRS 697 & 698) of 2 credits each for a total of 34 credits.

Students taking the Thesis Track (*by application only) take an additional 2 credits for a total of 36 credits.

Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident Cost Breakdown:

  • Tuition: $725/credit  
The total program cost is as follows (including tuition and student/course fees):
  • Canadian students/Permanent residents (Leadership Integration Project Track-34 credits) -- $26462

  • Canadian students/Permanent residents(Thesis Track-36 credits) -- $27998

International Student Cost Breakdown:

  • Tuition: $795/credit 
The total program cost is as follows (including tuition and student/course fees):
  • International student (Leadership Integration Project Track-34 credits) -- $28,252
  • International student (Thesis Track-36 credits) -- $30,878

Scholarships & Aid

Funding for students enrolled in the MA Leadership or MA Educational Leadership is available in a combination of merit and need-based awards. To be eligible, students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and continuous enrolment in a minimum of 3 credits per semester.

Entrance Scholarships

Graduates from the following programs who are pursuing an MA Leadership degree are eligible for one entrance scholarship:

  • TWU Adult Degree Completion graduates - $3,000 scholarship (available for all MA LEAD streams)
  • TWU International Degree Completion graduates - $3,000 scholarship (available for all MA LEAD streams)
  • TWU graduates of a Bachelor’s Degree Program - $3,000 scholarship (available for Canadian Citizens/Permanent Residents with an incoming GPA of 3.0 or higher).
  • Columbia Bible College graduates - $3,000 scholarship (available for all MA LEAD streams)
  • Summit Pacific College graduates - $3,000 scholarship (available for all MA LEAD streams)
  • * Power to Change employees - $3,000 scholarship (available for all MA LEAD streams)
  • * Society of Christian Schools in BC (SCSBC) employees - $3,000 scholarship (available for MAEL and Education streams)
  • * Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA) employees - $3,000 scholarship (available for MAEL and Education streams)

*To be eligible, students must submit proof of employment (ie: letter from Human Resources) to lead@twu.ca.

MA Educational Leadership (MAEL) Program Scholarship

Students enrolled in the MAEL program may be eligible for an additional $1,500 entrance scholarship if the above criteria is met, and have Canadian citizenship/permanent residency status and a valid Canadian teaching certificate.

Need-Based Aid

The application deadline is June 1. To apply, complete the TWU Financial Need Assessment.  For new students beginning their studies in January, please contact the Financial Aid & Awards Office at awards@twu.ca  

Endowment Awards

Endowment awards are established by donors of the university and are based on a variety of criteria including financial need, academic program, and many other student characteristics. See full listing of endowment awards. Application deadline is June 1.

To apply, complete the TWU Financial Need Assessment and Endowment Award Application.

Don & Annabelle Page Scholarship ($1,000)

Scholarship criteria:

  • Must have successfully completed 12 semester hours of the MA Leadership degree program with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need

King Chi Tong Memorial Scholarship ($500)

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Must be currently enrolled in the second year of the MA Leadership degree program
  • Demonstrated financial need

CP Rail Aboriginal Scholarship ($500)

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Available to an Aboriginal student enrolled in the MA Leadership degree program.
  • Demonstrated financial need

Teaching Assistantships (TA)

A limited number of Graduate Teaching Assistantships are available to second year (or recently graduated) students with a minimum GPA of 3.5. TA stipends are typically for 30-40 hours per course assigned.

When available, students can apply by using this link and selecting the “Teaching Assistant (on-call) Position.

Loans

Student lines of credit offered through financial institutions are available for students. A co-signer may be required.  The MA Leadership program is not eligible for government student loans.
