LEARNING WITH LASSI

The Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) is a self-assessment designed to give students an opportunity to think about how they currently learn in relation to areas associated with student success. LASSI has been taken in universities around the world including Princeton, MIT, Cornell, McGill, Toronto, Johannesburg, Zhejiang, and New South Wales, providing a clearer picture of your strengths and areas where you can improve. The results give you, and us in the Learning Commons, a starting point to design learning options unique for you. Every incoming first-year student will have the chance to take the LASSI survey.

Next steps:

  • If you are an incoming first-year student, you will take the LASSI survey in your first few weeks of the semester. Your Peer Instructor (PI) will help you interpret the results and create an action plan.
  • If you are a TWU student interested in taking the LASSI then please contact us at learningcommons@twu.ca. We have a limited supply of access codes, so first come first served!
  • Once you have taken the LASSI and have identified some priorities, then start by checking out our new Quick Start Guides and our TurboCharged Learning Series.
  • If you would like to talk to a Coach about your LASSI, please book a time here.
