Please join us for a FREE morning workshop featuring Fred Chou, M.A., Ph.D. student (UBC). This workshop will help community members, families and youth understand the basics of participatory action research, a process that allows for collaboration between stakeholders, youth, and service providers to collaborate to formulate and answer research questions. Fred has worked with youth in Chilliwack and has published two papers on that endeavour.  Fred is currently a 3rd year doctoral candidate at UBC, and has also written numerous articles for the Institute of Families & the FORCE Society on Family Smart.

We would like to thank the Langley and Chilliwack Local Action Teams, which are part of the larger provincial Child and Youth Mental Health and Substance Use Collaborative, for making this workshop possible. Funding for the Collaborative comes from the Shared Care Committee (SCC), with contributions from the Specialist Services Committee (SSC) and General Practice Services Committee (GPSC); all are joint collaborative committees of Doctors of BC and the Ministry of Health.
