In 2016, the Government of Canada introduced legislation that allows eligible adults to request medical assistance in dying (MAiD). The social, moral, and medicinal ramifications of this decision are vast, but the legal reality remains unchanged―eligible adults are legally entitled to die with the help of a medical professional.

How then can pastors, chaplains, counsellors, and other caring people walk with those who are impacted by MAiD? How can those in ministry help family members and health care professionals experience God’s presence as they sort through emotions that may range from sorrow to anger?

MinistryLift is partnering with Dr. Gloria Woodland to provide a one-day training event that will prepare individuals to walk pastorally with those impacted by MAiD.

Registration for onsite participants is $85/person (includes refreshments and lunch) and $70 for live-streamers.

The teaching will include:

·         A presentation from a medical doctor on the approved medical process that will end a patient's life

·         A panel discussion with ministry and medical professionals

·         Content that will prepare people to walk pastorally with those impacted by MAiD

This training will also function as the concluding day of a course called "Distinctives of Spiritual Care for Elderly and Those at the End of Life."

If you would like to audit the course or take it for credit, please contact Dr. Gloria Woodland.
