Trinity Western University welcomes respected leadership expert Carson Pue

Carson Pue, a well-known author and leadership executive with more than 20 years of experience in mentoring leaders, has joined Trinity Western University’s Executive Leadership Team as the Special Assistant to the President.

Pue will be working closely with President Bob Kuhn as an advisor, as well as on special projects in fundraising, leadership development, church relations and communications. He’ll also assist the President in relation to TWU’s proposed School of Law.

“I can think of no one I trust more to provide advice and strategic leadership to TWU as we engage in the new era of facing Christian higher education,” said President Kuhn. “As the world increasingly misunderstands Christian principles, and the institutions that seek to uphold traditional biblical values, we recognize the critical need to develop and inspire tomorrow’s godly Christian leaders. Carson excels in that relational environment. I look forward to working with him, and I am confident that he will make extraordinary difference in our community, across the country and around the world.”

Pue’s more than two decades in senior leadership positions have prepared him well for the role. Currently, he owns and operates Quadrant Leadership Inc., through which he does speaking, writing, consulting and executive mentoring engagements. Recently, he served First Baptist Church Vancouver as Executive Director and then Executive Advisor for the Heart for the City Project, a multi-million-dollar project to transform Vancouver’s First Baptist Church into a multi-use complex that includes housing, community, family and counselling services, as well as a homeless shelter.

He is well known internationally as the former CEO of Arrow Leadership, an organization dedicated to emergent and executive leadership development. Pue is also a keynote speaker and published bestselling author of Mentoring Leaders: Wisdom for Developing Calling, Character and Competency (Baker Books 2005).

Pue is a graduate of the University of Calgary (B.Ed., M.A. Religious Studies), Trinity Western University (Doctor of Christian Ministries, Honoris Causa), and the Arrow Leadership Program. In 2004, Crandall University (formerly ABU) gave Pue its leadership award. In 2014, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of his contributions as a board member of World Vision.

“I love mentoring and developing leaders—it is my call,” said Pue. “It is an honour to use these two passions on the Executive Leadership Team and throughout TWU. I’m looking forward to loving students, building relationships with and serving university leaders, and working with President Kuhn."
