Responding to the needs of the global marketplace
“With the increasing advancement and integration of technologies in the global marketplace, people are seeking to gain the right skills and preparation to help them succeed as leaders in the workforce,” said Dr. Phil Laird, TWU’s Vice President of Innovation, Global and Academic Partnerships, on the motivation for this new development.
“That is why Trinity Western is stepping up our educational offerings with the new dual degree master’s program.”
Mr. Geoffrey Feng, Executive Director of Global Recruitment and Partner Relations for TWU GLOBAL, highlights the attractiveness of this new program, “Based on the volume of inquiries we’ve received, we know that the demand for this type of program offering is high, especially on the international market.”
“We are excited to provide this unique dual degree opportunity that many of our students are seeking. Achieving two master’s degrees in less time helps our graduates to advance more quickly in their chosen careers and life goals.”

Achieving two master’s degrees in less time
Students in the dual degree program can take Belhaven courses online while pursuing their Master of Arts in Leadership degree at TWU’s Langley or Richmond campuses. Under the dual degree partnership, both universities will transfer nine credits into each other’s master’s degree programs, saving students time, coursework and cost—and effectively removing the need for six courses. The benefit is that graduates of the program can earn two master’s degrees from TWU and Belhaven in as quickly as 20 months.
“With the increasing advancement and integration of technologies in the global marketplace, people are seeking to gain the right skills and preparation to help them succeed as leaders in the workforce.”
Bridging global contexts
This dual degree program provides additional benefits for international students, including eligibility for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) in Canada and significantly increased chances of successfully applying for permanent residency in Canada within the PGWP timeframe after graduation.
Equipped to succeed in an ever-evolving world of technology
The new TWU-Belhaven dual degree master’s program will equip graduates to succeed in an ever-evolving world of technology by providing them with training in areas such as team leadership and conflict resolution, disaster recovery planning, current and emerging technology, and leadership values and ethics. Moreover, a faith-based and values-based education equips our graduates to lead well when they are faced with complex issues and challenges by providing them with a Christian perspective.
