Trinity Western University Opens Second Richmond Site to Accommodate a Six-Fold Enrolment Growth Since 2015

RICHMOND, B.C., February 13, 2020: Trinity Western University has grown its footprint in Richmond, recently opening its doors at a second site. Located on the second floor of Lansdowne Centre, the 20,000 square feet of renovated learning space features modern furnishings and connectivity and offers 11 classrooms, a learning centre, project rooms, a spacious courtyard, and faculty offices. Its close proximity to the SkyTrain is ideal for commuting students, while the mall offers students convenient access to restaurants and services just steps away.

Trinity Western University (TWU), which has its main campus in Langley, opened an extension campus on Minoru Boulevard in Richmond five years ago, offering relevant business and leadership degrees to prepare students for success in some of the fastest-growing career sectors. Since TWU Richmond’s launch, the institution has grown tremendously as both domestic and international students have discovered the value of TWU’s flexible and practical programs—with enrolment increasing from 125 students in 2015 to over 700 students this semester.

TWU Richmond continues to operate its Minoru location in addition to the new Lansdowne location. The Minoru campus is only a 10-minute walk from Lansdowne Centre, serves as the administrative hub, and offers the university-level preparatory language programs, BA in Leadership degree completion, Master of Arts in Leadership, and Master of Business Administration programs. The new site at Lansdowne Centre was designed specifically to serve the needs of international undergraduate students completing their BA in Leadership degree.

“Focused on the disciplines of Business and Leadership at the undergraduate and graduate levels, TWU has become a strong presence in Richmond,” says Dr. Phil Laird, Vice Provost of TWU GLOBAL. “As we continue to grow through the development pathways and programs to serve local and international students, TWU Richmond will continue its focus on global engagement and the development of leaders for the 21st century.”

TWU Richmond invites the public to come visit the new Lansdowne site on Friday, April 24, 2020, for a special open house from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tours and program information will be available. The public is invited to contact richmond@twu.ca for more information.
