Resources & Events

Our Career Office has lots of resources! The best way to access them is to book an appointment and we can really work out what you need.

But if you can’t wait then here’s four that many students have found helpful:

  1. What can I do with this Major? TWU has a subscription to a tool that can help you match majors to potential career options. Watch this video on how to maximize its potential.
  2. Typefocus.com. TWU has a subscription to this online career assessment tool designed to help you identify your natural strengths and preferences. Please contact us for your access code.
  3. Resume.com. Your resume is your greatest marketing tool. Use this simple, yet powerful, tool to create your resume in minutes.
  4. Are you Career Ready? Employers are looking to hire university students and recent graduates who know how to use their talents, strengths and interests. These students are career-ready. How do you become career ready? Mastering these career readiness competencies will prepare you for a successful transition into the workplace. Share your assessment with our career counselor.

Since March we have been providing information on financial resources related to COVID-19. This is a shifting space. We will continue to monitor Federal and Provincial sites and post any new information on our Instagram Channel.

Events

Every semester we organize a series of events to assist students and alumni with their career questions, work hunt, and future planning.

One signature event in 2020 was the TWU Career & Grad Fair where TWU students had the opportunity to engage with 55 employers including Chick fil A, Township of Langley and Costco.

In Fall 2019 we invited students to explore different areas of study with faculty at our Major Minor Fair.

We have organized events in 2020 on Resume Writing, LinkedIn Profiles, and CliftonStrengths.

We advertise all our events on our Instagram channel and through TWU Events.
