Our first-year laboratories have measurement equipment interfaced with hand-held computers to allow efficient data collection and analysis in the full range of subjects from kinematics through waves to electromagnetism. Advanced equipment, such as the Millikan oil drop apparatus, the Franck-Hertz experiment, and our Michelson interferometer allow students to measure most of the fundamental physical constants and experience the historical development of physics.

Students in physics have access to an advanced computing laboratory and study lounge in the basement of the Neufeld Science Centre, complete with kitchen facilities and a ping-pong table.
