Clinical Counsellor

I consider it a tremendous privilege to walk with clients through their fears, hurts, and life transitions. My passion is seeing clients experience healing and a renewed sense of purpose and vitality in life. My counselling style is warm, compassionate, engaged, and sometimes humorous. I believe that when clients feel valued and understood, they can find the safety to explore their feelings, wounds, and longings.  As well, I take a collaborative approach to therapy and enjoy partnering with clients to work together towards their goals. Prior to counselling, I worked as a chaplain on the University of British Columbia campus for six years, providing leadership and pastoral care. I have experience working with university students, adults, couples, and families. I have completed a BA in English Literature from the University of British Columbia, an MA in Theology from Regent College, and am graduating with an MA in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University.

My approach to counselling is influenced by my training, which includes Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Lifespan Integration (LI), and Gottman Couples Therapy. When I am not counselling, I am usually roughhousing, changing diapers, and exploring nature with my family, which includes my wife and our two toddlers. Before kids—when I still had hair and free time —I liked to read literature, run, and travel. Current hobbies include watching the Bachelor.
