José Larochelle

Director; Omada Teambuilding; Part-time Instructor of Human Kinetics

At 15 years old, my trajectory in life changed when I attended an Outward Bound program in the UK, and have vocationally pursued outdoor education ever since. Because of my degree in Outdoor Leadership, and through my work with regional, federal, and international organizations, I have seen thousands of young people engage with their outside world.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to guide and instruct rock climbing and backpacking, voyageur canoeing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and winter camping, caving, sailing, ropes courses and team-building. During my time as a First Mate on Tall Ships owned by the Sail and Life Training Society (SALTS), I met my wife, who was also part of the crew and mutually enjoyed an active lifestyle while engaging with others. Our new adventure is spending time with our three small children and sharing our love for the outdoors and community.
