Clinical Team Lead

Biography

I grew up in Vanderhoof, a tiny town in northern BC. Following high school, I took a 3 yearlong ‘gap year’ spending time at Capernwray and YWAM, working at a travel call center, and flying into remote regions of BC to burn wood piles for the forestry sector. Eventually, my plans settled, and I decided to pursue nursing. In 2005 I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George and began my career as a Public Health Nurse. In 2006 our family moved to Langley for my husband to complete his Master of Clinical Counselling from TWU. I worked in Surrey as a Public Health Nurse and later became a Certified Diabetes Educator working in the Diabetes and Pregnancy Clinic at Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre. The opportunity to join TWU in 2020 complimented my nursing background and renewed my love for nursing. In 2021, after 15 years working for Fraser Health Authority, I resigned to join the Wellness Centre full-time. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 teenage children, tackling home DIY projects, and being outdoors.
