Maria was born and raised in Colombia, where she lived until she graduated high school. The following sixth months afterward she spent travelling between Hawaii and India, where she learned about discipleship and served in missions with Youth With a Mission (YWAM). This experience was very transformative for Maria and eventually led her to Trinity Western University to complete her undergraduate degree. Since graduating, she has been working at Trinity as a resident director. When she is not running around chasing students during Fort-Week, getting bubble tea with her RAD team or sliding down a tubing hill with friends, Maria is hard at work developing strategies to equip and empower the students she mentors and leads.
Her hope for the near future is to join the Masters of Organizational Psychology program at Adler University in Vancouver. She is confident that this program will best prepare her for a career with an NGO - whether that be in the talent management department or as a coach and consultant for organizations that seek to cultivate healthy workspaces and goals.
