Biography

Health and Fitness have always been an essential part of Michael’s life. Growing up he excelled in a variety of sports. He particularly enjoyed track and field, basketball and rugby. Once he attended Trinity Western University he was mentored by Andrew Heming on the Spartan Strength Coach Team. He interned for 3 years during his University Career under his leadership. In 2014, Michael graduated from Trinity Western University with a Bachelors in Human Kinetics, Sport & Leisure Management. He achieved certifications as a Fitness Center leader amongst his peers. He completed Level 1 & 2 of the Functional Movement Screen. He continued to train high level Athletes out of Township of Langley Community Centers. Michael grew a fond interest in Power and Olympic lifting and soon became his specialty. In 2016, a unique developed arose where the TWU Athletics Department needed a fulltime and experienced trainer. Without hesitation Michael applied, as he wanted to give back to the University that helped mold him into the person who he is today.

In the summer of 2016 Michael became the TWU Fitness Center Manager. He enjoys engaging the students, challenging them in topics not just on their fitness aspirations. He works hard to maintain a healthy and friendly environment in the Fitness Center. One of Trinity Western University goal is to fostering community and Michael is largely a part of that goal, regarding who he is and his position as the Manager of the Fitness Center.
