Randy Fulton, BSc, MA

Senior Learning Coach

Favourite part about your job: I love teaching and helping international students improve their skills for academic writing and study and practice effective leadership skills.

Six Words of Advice on Learning: When it comes learning English – especially academic English and writing, one must: Practice; Practice; Practice!!! When it comes to working effectively with a Learning Coach – students should: try the work; come for help; ask questions and get suggestions!!!

Something I wish I learned quicker: I wish I had identified God’s gifting and calling to teach much earlier in my life but for the first several years of university, I dropped any courses where I had to give a presentation or speak publically. However, it took about 10 years of forest management and environmental research for me to get pointed in the direction of the need for environmental education and then later ESL for internationals.

I have degrees in Biology, Forestry and Christian Studies and love examining and teaching about God’s intelligent design and creative expertise in nature and the Bible.

I have taught Environmental Studies and Biblical Studies overseas, followed by more than 15 years of teaching Academic ESL before joining TWU as a Learning Coach and then assisting in several LDRS courses at TWU. I love helping students explore the Bible, seeing God’s love, forgiveness and mercy for all humanity throughout history and displayed in the life and actions of Jesus.
