Q: What excites you the most about living on campus as an RD?

The most exciting thing about living on campus as an RD for me is that I am close to my family which has grown to three over this summer. At the best of times, it allows students to see me in both the planned and exciting moments and in the daily mundane and even stressful moments. I think this is exciting because the Christian walk is not the tidy perfect life but is meant to be in the chaos of true community where differences and messiness are held in gracious tension. Being on campus allows a unique opportunity to share life in this way.

Q: If you could take a group of TWU students anywhere in the world to do anything, where would you go and what would you do?

I want to have a profound or serious answer to this but realistically my first thought is going somewhere warm with beautiful ocean waves to surf on. Doing the Camino de Santiago would also be something I would do.

Q: What is your favorite hobby or activity?

My favorite activity is playing sports I would say. From intramurals to rec leagues to more competitive regional leagues, I love it. I play soccer (footy) the most but have also played a lot of ball hockey, volleyball, and basketball.

Q: What is the best book you have most recently read?

I have not read it recently but one of the books I would love to read again, and think is a book you can read repeatedly every year or so is ‘In the Name of Jesus’ by Henri Nouwen. It’s a story of him speaking at a conference with a friend and community member from L’Arche Communities. Parallel to the story he gives three leadership principles that are relevant for Christian leadership.

Q: What are your Clifton top 5 Strengths?

My top five talents are: 1) Strategic, 2) Adaptability, 3) Relator, 4) Empathy, and 5) Arranger.
