AUTO21 INC. CONNECT CANADA 
Internship Program

Connect Canada is a new internship program that links graduate students and Canadian companies for research placements. Regardless of the issue, the sector or the location, Connect Canada internships can help companies find a cost-effective solution developed by highly skilled graduate students under the supervision of an academic supervisor. The stipend is considered a part of the academic supervisor's research funding and provides an opportunity to make contact with various industrial partners.
Eligible interns are full-time graduate students enrolled in, or postdoctoral fellows working in, a Canadian participating institution in any area of research, including natural sciences, engineering, economics, social sciences, health, environment and ethics.
Eligible private sector host organizations are for-profit private sector companies operating in Canada that derive more than 50 percent of their revenues from non- governmental sources and derive their revenues from the sale of products and/ or services including public utilities.
Value: $10,000 ($5,000 each from the company sponsor and Connect Canada)
Term: 4-6 months

CANADIAN ANTHROPOLOGY SOCIETY 
Women's Network Award for a Student Paper in Feminist Anthropology
Graduate students in Anthropology who will be presenting a paper at the CASCA meetings are invited to submit their papers for consideration for the CASCA Women's Network Award for Student Paper in Feminist Anthropology ($100).
This award was set up in 2009 as part of the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the CASCA Women's Network. Its goal is to encourage research into gender and gender issues from a feminist perspective by emerging scholars in social/cultural anthropology in Canada.
Eligibility: Candidates must be registered full-time in a graduate program in Anthropology at a Canadian university, or have graduated from such a program less than one year ago.

CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF PHYSICISTS (CAP) 
Best Student Paper Awards
Each year, at the CAP Congress, students (both graduate and undergraduate) are offered the opportunity to present posters or to give oral presentations that embody the results of research that they have been recently carrying out. The CAP provides awards for the best student papers and posters delivered at Congress, if a student specifically indicates that they want to participate in the competition.

CANADIAN GEOPHYSICAL UNION (CGU) 
Student Awards
CGU offers six awards to recognize outstanding performance in scientific research and presentation by students. The awards will be presented at the Award Ceremony of each CGU annual meeting, together with the presentation of the J. Tuzo Wilson Medal. In addition, the winners of the awards and their supervisors will be reported in CGU newsletter Elements, on CGU website, and in American Geophysical Union newsletter EOS. For any of the awards, the student must be the first author and presenter, and the abstract must be identified to the CGU session convenor as a student paper.
There are three awards for general geophysics (including hydrology):
-CGU Best Student Paper
-Chevron Canada Outstanding Student Paper in Seismology
-Shell Canada Best Student Poster Award
There are two awards for hydrology:
-D.M. Gray Award for Best Student Paper in Hydrology
-Campbell Scientific Award for Best Student Poster in Hydrology
There is a $500 Geodesy Student Award.
There is a $500 best student paper award for the Solid Earth Section.
The Biogeosciences Section will offer a $500 best student paper award.

CANADIAN TAX FOUNDATION 
Student Paper Award Submissions
Each year, the Foundation will award up to four regional student-paper prizes. Depending on the merit of papers received, one prize may be awarded for each of four regions of the country: Atlantic Canada (the CTF-McInnes Cooper Award), Quebec (the CTF-Jean Potvin Award), Ontario (the Fasken Martineau DuMoulin Award), and Western Canada (the CTF-Bert Wolfe Nitikman Foundation Award). Papers must be written as a requirement of a tax-related course, including directed research courses, and can address any aspect of the Canadian tax system, including comparative analyses, tax policy, tax compliance, tax planning, tax system design, etc.
Entries must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from the professor or instructor of the tax course for which the paper was written and complete details of the student's name, address, phone number, and, if available, fax number and e-mail address.

INFORMS COMPUTING SOCIETY (ICS) 
Student Paper Award
The ICS Student Paper Award is given annually to the best paper at the interface of computing and operations research by a student author, as judged by the award selection committee. The award is accompanied by a plaque and a $500 honorarium. The winner will be invited to briefly present his/her paper in an ICS-sponsored session and the award will be presented at the ICS Business Meeting. The winner is expected to make his/her own travel arrangements to the INFORMS meeting. The winner will also receive free registration to the next ICS Conference. The ICS Student Paper Award is sponsored by the Mica Fonden.

MITACS 
Mitacs-Accelerate InDev

Mitacs‐Accelerate InDev internships expand the scope of the Mitacs‐Accelerate program. They are not designed for research projects, but for projects that advance or significantly improve new products, processes, materials, systems or services. Mitacs’ internship programs aim to provide graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with the opportunity to transfer their skills from theory to real-world application, while companies gain a competitive advantage by accessing high-quality research expertise.
Mitacs-Accelerate InDev internships are open to all disciplines all industry sectors. The intern must be a graduate student or post-doctoral fellow enrolled at a Canadian university.
For each 4 month, Mitacs‐Accelerate InDev internship project receives $11,000 in direct funding: $7,500 from the partner organization and $3,500 from Mitacs, for a total of $11,000.

SOCIETY FOR INDUSTRIAL AND APPLIED MATHEMATICS (SIAM) 
Be Recognized! SIAM Student Paper Prizes Student Paper Prizes are awarded annually to the student authors of the most outstanding papers submitted to the SIAM Student Paper Competition. Recipients of the prizes present their papers at the SIAM Annual Meeting.
Travel! SIAM Student Travel Awards These awards provide complimentary registration plus travel funds to selected full-time students to attend SIAM conferences.
Challenge Your Brain! Mathematical Contest in Modeling SIAM Award in Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) is awarded to two of the teams judged "Outstanding" in the annual MCM. One winning team is chosen for each of the two problems (continuous and discrete) posed in the MCM.
Undergraduate Student Poster Contest at AN09 Prizes are awarded to the three best posters demonstrating research done by undergraduates in applied and computational mathematics.

For Women Only: NSF/AWM Travel Grants provide full or partial support to enable women to attend research conferences in their fields.
Paid Fellowships DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (CSGF) works to identify and provide support for some of the very best computational science graduate students in the nation. The program is funded by the Department of Energy, Office of Defense Programs and Office of Science.

SUPPLY CHAIN AND LOGISTICS ASSOCIATION CANDA, SCI GROUP INC. 
National Student Paper Award
SCL Canada invites all students from Canadian education institutions to submit a paper for the SCI Group Inc. National Student Paper award. This award carries a $2,500 prize and a one-year membership in SCL. We accept papers from undergraduate and graduate students alike, with the papers being weighted to the level of program being undertaken.
The award is presented at the SCL Annual Conference, held every spring. The student award winner receives a full complimentary pass to the Annual Conference, hotel accommodation if they are from beyond the GTA and air fare for residents outside of Ontario. This is a very prestigious award and worth working for.

THE CANADIAN WATER RESOURCES ASSOCIATION (CWRA) 
CWRA Awards
The Hoskin Scientific Award
Each year the CWRA holds it's national conference. Professionals and students from across Canada gather to present and share information related to water resources. At each conference the Hoskin Scientific Award for $500 is presented for the Best Student Poster.

Bill Stolte Student Paper Award 
The student whose paper contains the following qualities:
originality; contribution to water resources knowledge; technical and analytical quality; and clarity of their presentation.

THE LOUISVILLE INSTITUTE 
Postdoctoral Fellowship program provides up to five awards of $25,000 each year to support a two-year teaching internship in a theological school. Postdoctoral Fellows will constitute a peer cohort along with two experienced co-mentors (one professor and one pastor) and up to three pastoral colleagues. Each cohort will meet a total of six times over two years.
Dissertation Fellowship is designed to supports the final year Ph.D. or Th.D. dissertation writing for students engaged in research pertaining to North American Christianity, especially projects related to Christian faith and life, religious institutions, and pastoral leadership.
Dissertation Fellowships will provide a stipend of $22,000 for twelve months beginning in September. Fellowships are not renewable. All tuition, medical insurance, and required fees are the responsibility of the student.

USER MODELING AND USER-ADAPTED INTERACTION 
The James Chen Best Student Paper Award is given to the best student paper at the UMAP conference.
The UMUAI James Chen Award is given to the best annual UMUAI journal article.
The awards have been donated by the Chen family in commemoration of James R. Chen, a creative researcher in the area of user modeling and information retrieval, and twice a UMUAI author. The award comes with a cash prize of U.S. $ 1,000. To select the winner, an award committee is formed from the editorial board of the journal which reviews all articles that were nominated by reviewers and the editorial board.
Both James Chen Awards are sponsored by the Chen family in commemoration of James R. Chen.
