SSHRC CONNECTION AND PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMS

SSHRC researchers who are interested in participating in policy and innovation collaborations should investigate the new Partnerships Grants programs.  SSHRC is emphasizing these programs because Tri-Agency studies show that Canada is internationally competitive in academic research except in the area of innovation.

CFI MOBILE APP

The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) has launched a new mobile application for Android, Blackberry and Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. This application will provide immediate access to the latest news and information from the CFI, as well as a comprehensive listing of CFI-funded projects. CFI’s mobile app may be downloaded from: Apple App Store

TRI-AGENCY MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

To obtain access to Tri-Agency funding, Canadian universities sign an MOU with each agency. The Tri-Agencies have drafted an MOU which eliminates overlap with the compliance regulations they require and which no longer states the responsibilities of researchers. Instead, researchers are being required to sign that they understand their responsibilities under the MOU when they make an applications.

GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

In addition, the Tri-Agencies are now requiring that any applicant, co-applicant and College and Community Innovation Program participant on grant or scholarship applications consent to have some of their personal information disclosed in cases of serious breach of agency policy. Therefore, a signedConsent to Disclosure of Personal Information form is now a requirement of all new IPS/IIS applications submitted. For further information, see the Frequently Asked Questions about the Consent to Disclosure of Personal Information.
