The place to be on campus is the TWU Fitness Centre. In 2015 the Athletic Facilities added a new addition to its Fitness Centre. On the first floor is a workout area of the latest and greatest fitness equipment. It has everything anybody needs to accomplish a great workout. It has 5 squats racks with platforms for strength training, a TRX rig for functional movement training, Keiser bikes, treadmills, Stairmaster, rowing machine, and an S-Drive for cardio and high intensity interval training. Also, the Fitness Centre has dumbbells that go up to 110lbs and a lot of cable machines to satisfy any training program.
TWU FITNESS CENTRE DRESS CODE
Trinity Western University’s Athletic Facilities seeks to create a comfortable environment that is enjoyable for everyone. We ask that everyone who works out in our Athletic Facilities considers others before themselves. Our first priority is to ensure cleanliness and limit the spread of bacteria and potential diseases. Our second priority is to create an environment that is comfortable for everyone who uses the space. As such, TWU-appropriate shirts and shoes are required at all times in all of our Athletic Facilities.
Our Trainers are students who are aspiring to become great trainers. They have the knowledge and education to be great trainers. They need experience working in a gym to help solidify their skills. These Student Trainers know how to train individuals and help anyone to achieving their goals.
We have a Strength Leaderboard that any member of the Fitness Centre can participate. It is a one rep max competition of strength exercises with multiple categories. Ask the Fitness Staff which category they can participate in the strength leader board.
The Fitness Centre, for Fall and Spring semesters, hosts a Fitness Challenge. This event is only for students. The winners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd between men and women receive a prize from a sponsor of the Fitness Challenge.
With how great our Fitness Centre is, the programs we have, and the people serving its members, we pride ourselves on its community and training environment. It is a non-judgmental and friendly place, it is to get in a great workout, de-stress and have fun.
