About TRAC: The Trinity Refugee Awareness Campaign (TRAC) started when a number of students came together with the goal of sponsoring a refugee family’s integration into Canada. After raising more than $30,000 in order to sponsor this family, they’ve now welcomed them into the country. The TRAC team has shifted away from fund-raising and towards getting involved in the integration process for families coming to Canada for the first time from all over the Globe. The team will be working with the Congolese family they’ve sponsored, as well as a number of local organizations focused on serving the refugee community in order to help provide childcare, English language instruction, tutoring, driving lessons, community events like soccer games, and other services specifically designed to help these families feel welcome in their new home. TRAC accommodates a wide variety of schedules, and would be great both for people wanting to serve on a weekly basis, as well as for those whose availability is more limited.
