For new students

1. Can I complete the full 26-credit TESOL certificate in one year?

Yes! See two options here:  Finish the certificate in one year.

2. What is the cost?

Students who come to TWU only for the the TESOL Certificate Program (not TWU undergraduates or Adult Degree Completion) pay a reduced fee. Please contact extension@twu.ca for the current rate. 

3. Where can I find which courses are being offered?

Click on the sidebar TESOL Timetable; then click on the appropriate semester.

4. I’m a Canadian. How do I apply?

Click on the TESOL Applications - Canadian Students link, and fill in the application form.

5. I’m an international student. How do I apply?

Click on the TESOL Applications - International Students link, and read through the procedures. We require an IELTS minimum 7 in each skill area or TOEFL iBT overall 101 with a minimum of 23 in Listening, 24 in Reading, 27 in Speaking, 27 in Writing.

For current TWU students

For TWU TESOL grads

1. If I have completed a certificate, how do I obtain the paper copy?

Fill in the appropriate TESOL checklist with your grades (see 2014-15 checklist, or 2015-16 checklist).  Submit to TWU Extension (in person in NWB or via email -- tesol.checklist@twu.ca).  State whether you will pick up the certificate in person or whether you would like it mailed to you. If the latter, give a mailing address. 
Certificates are issued two times a year :

  1. in January for those who completed in the summer and fall semesters
  2. in May for those who completed in the spring semester
