LANGLEY, British Columbia – This weekend the Trinity Western University Spartans will host their first ever Canada West basketball games at the Langley Event Centre when the Spartans have their home opener against the University of Victoria Vikes women's and men’s basketball teams on Fri. Nov. 20 and Sat. Nov. 21.

![]() | IMPORTANT EARLY SEASON MATCH-UP AS SPARTANS AND VIKES OPEN HOME SEASON AT LANGLEY EVENTS CENTRE Women's Basketball - date: November 19th, 2009 LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University Spartans will play host to the Victoria Vikes in a pair of games this weekend, with Friday’s tip-off at 6 p.m. and Saturday’s at 5 p.m. Last week the Spartans split the weekend with their first win of the year at Brandon (73-45) and followed up with a loss at Regina (66-37). The Vikes also split last weekend’s games as well opening with a loss to Alberta (65-75) before picking up their first win in Canada West hosting Saskatchewan (58-52). Both teams are 1-2 on the season coming into this weekend’s home stand. |
![]() | SPARTANS AND VIKES BATTLE IN LANGLEY EVENTS CENTRE BASKETBALL SEASON OPENER Men's Basketball - date: November 19th, 2009 LANGLEY, British Columbia - The Trinity Western University Spartans are set to take on the University of Victoria Vikes in this weekend in two basketball contests, Fri. at 8 p.m. and Sat. at 7 p.m. in the Spartans basketball home openers at the Langley Events Centre. The Spartans went 2-0 last weekend with a pair of road wins against Brandon (83-63) and Regina (81-74). The Vikes are also coming into tonight’s game with a pair of wins last weekend as they downed the Alberta (74-66) and Saskatchewan (82-54). The last time these two teams met was in last year’s Pacific Division semi-final, which the Spartans took two games to one at TWU. |
