Amanda Nakano, RCC

Clinical Counsellor

Biography

My name is Amanda and I am completing my MA in Counselling Psychology here at Trinity. As a counsellor, I believe healing happens through the relationship built together in therapy. I am deeply client-centred in my approach to counselling. I believe you are the expert of your experience, and as a therapist, I am committed to journeying alongside and supporting you in whatever ways bring about flourishing. I currently draw from three different therapeutic modalities- Emotional Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Satir. I am also interested in creative and experiential modalities such as art therapy and somatic awareness. I consider counselling a sacred process, there is so much beauty and privilege in encountering the lives of so many different people in this way.

Outside of sessions, I enjoy making art, working out, being in nature, roller skating, and cooking good food for the people I love. I have a soft spot for anime, A24 films, and cooking shows.
