Robert Workman, MMus

Part Time Instructor
I have always found that music brings me closer to God. He blessed me with a mind for music - how better to use that gift than to glorify His name?

From a young age, Rob knew he wanted to pursue a career in music, which has always been a key part of his life and faith.

Though originally a trombone major, Rob eventually delved into vocal studies and the art of conducting. He graduated from Trinity Western University (2017) with a BA in Music (Vocal Studies). Rob later received his MMus in Choral Conducting from the University of Manitoba (2020).

In line with his education, Rob's primary role in the professional music world is that of a choral director. He works with three choirs: Pacific Voices (Abbotsford), Valley Festival Singers (Abbotsford), and Gloria Dei Chorale (New Westminster). Rob's conducting style has been praised as clear and evocative, facilitating precision and excellence in his choirs.

Rob is also passionate about music education, and he lives for "light bulb" moments. Long-term, he has aspirations of becoming a full-time professor of music.
