Ghazal Amiri, RSW

Associate Counsellor

Biography

My name is Ghazal and I am completing my master’s in counselling psychology. I bring over 15 years of experience supporting mental health and well-being in hospital, academic, and community settings. I am passionate about creating a space where clients feel safe, heard, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges.

My counselling style is empathic, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I believe that healing happens through relationships built on trust and compassion. I draw mainly from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered approaches, and I also integrate solution-focused and trauma-informed techniques. Above all, I aim to meet each client where they are, honoring their strengths, experiences, and cultural background.

As someone who has spent much of my adult life as a student, I deeply understand the pressures of balancing academics, personal life, and the uncertainties that come with this stage of life. I feel honored to walk alongside clients with empathy and care, supporting them through both challenges and successes.

Outside of counselling, I enjoy traveling, listening to Latin music, reading, trying new recipes, and relaxing with a good romantic comedy.
