Student Media
Student Media encompasses all student media and communications on campus, including the TWUSA student newspaper, Mars' Hill, student yearbook, Pillar. It also assists with other projects such as the annual student short film competition, Cinergy. Student Media gives interested students an opportunity to extend their learning through hands-on experience with professional input provided by advisors.
Student Media Committee
The Student Media Committee acts as an oversight committee for the various Student Media productions. It is composed of Student Media editors and representatives of TWU Student Council, Student Life and Media + Communication faculty. The committee conducts interviews for Editor in Chief positions for Student Media publications. Also, it assists in the development of and adherence to the TWU student council Student Media Operational Guidelines.
Student Media Associations
ASSOCIATED COLLEGIATE PRESS
TWU Student Media is affiliated with Associated Collegiate Press (ACP), a U.S. based association of university and college student newspapers. This organization holds regular national and regional conferences for student media and hosts student newspaper and yearbook competitions. It is a division of the National Scholastic Press Association.
CANADIAN UNIVERSITY PRESS
TWU's newspaper, Mars' Hill, is a member of the Canadian University Press (CUP), a national student-run association since 1938 that provides annual learning conferences on a national, regional and local basis. Students also participate in a listserv to assist one another in the operation of their newspapers. Another unique aspect of CUP is its national student wire service in which member newspapers share stories across the country.
