The TWU Parent & Family network is here for you!

Going to university is a significant milestone. It’s a life adjustment—not only for your student, but for you and your family. At TWU, PARENTS & FAMILIES are an integral part of the Trinity Western story. We want you to come to treasure TWU, not only because of the impact the university has had on your students, but because of the impact it has had on your own life too.

University plays such a significant role in shaping who our students become, and we, at Trinity Western University, take that responsibility very seriously. Supporting your son or daughter as they transition to university life will greatly contribute to their success. At TWU, we value you and the role you play in your son or daughter's life. And this is why our Parent & Family Network is here to serve you and support you on this journey.

WHAT WE OFFER PARENTS

The TWU Parent & Family Network is here to serve and support PARENTS as they navigate this university journey with their students. We want to connect PARENTS with great resources, Parent Chapters, and events, so that you will be able to say with confidence, "We Love This Place!"

Join us at Spartan games, Parent BBQs & Chapters, and more. And be sure to join our TWU community online by "liking" us on Facebook to stay up to date on events, great articles and more. Check your emails for our monthly Parent e-newsletter, for inspiring articles, important updates, and a window into the campus experience.

We look forward to getting to know many of you over the next few years. Please get involved as you are able. Whether it's volunteering at a TWU event like a Preview Weekend, hosting a parent/student reception at your home, being part of a TWU Parent Chapter in your area, or helping out on campus, we welcome your involvement in the TWU community.

And allow us to serve you as your liaison on campus and help you connect with your student through our Touch of Home program offering care packages for your son or daughter.

Janice ('92 & 'MA '08) and her husband Peter ('92) met as history majors at Trinity Western. They have four kids - Tori, Lincoln, Virginia & Lewis. Tori, a TWU alum, (2018, BA in Psychology and Art & Design), married fellow TWU alum, Silas Matthys in summer 2019, and they currently live in Switzerland, where Silas plays pro hockey. Lincoln finished his degree in Business and Religious Studies in 2019; Virginia, is in her  3rd year of Nursing, and Lewis starts at TWU fall 2019.

Trinity Western has played a significant role in both Peter & Janice's families. Janice was the youngest of four sisters who attended TWU from Ontario. And Peter's Grandpa, Jim Westman, was one of the visionary men who walked the grounds over 50 years ago to pray for and determine if this was the land God had prepared for Trinity Western. Janice is delighted to connect with many of you on your TWU journey and looks forward to meeting with parents at Parent Chapter events, Spartan games, SAMC events or more. Coming to campus? Let her know and she’ll treat you to coffee!
