Tuition & Fees

Tuition fees are reviewed annually by the Board of Governors. After more than 10 years of a tuition freeze, last year tuition increased modestly for all students.

The 2025/26 fees have been approved by the Board of Governors and are effective for the Fall 2025 semester and onwards. All fees are in Canadian dollars.

At TWU, your citizenship status determines whether you’ll pay domestic or international tuition fees. Students with Canadian citizenship, Permanent Resident status, or Canadian Protected Persons and Convention Refugees pay domestic tuition. All others will pay the international tuition rate.

Fee Information

The Trinity Western University Student Association (TWUSA) is the student-elected leadership and exists for three core reasons: Events, Services, and Advocacy. The Student Association Fee of $75 pays for these student benefits. TWUSA’s services include free printing, coffee, tea, hot-chocolate, equipment use, and bicycle rentals. It also covers the cost of the production of Trinity’s biweekly student newspaper, Mars’ Hill, and the annual Pillar yearbook. TWUSA also hosts over a dozen campus-wide events, as well as school and faculty-specific events and sets aside a portion of the Student Association Fee in order to fund student-originated campus initiatives.

This fee applies to all Trinity Western University students. As we continue to support multi-access education in our academics, this fee will contribute to the necessary technological upgrades that will benefit all students. This fee is also intended to support many of the student-oriented activities and related infrastructure. These activities and facilities are generally available for all students.  This fee contributes to Student Life services such as the Wellness Centre and Student Life programs including Chapel, Global Projects, local outreach, and discipleship. This fee also contributes to academic support and facilities in the Learning Commons. In addition, it provides some support for distinct programs available to international, resident, and commuter students. Typically this fee pays a portion of recreational services such as the bouldering wall, maintenance of recreational fields, tennis courts, annual recreational equipment, fitness center equipment, as well as improvements to the Fitness & Group Fit Center.  It should be noted that only a portion of the actual costs of these activities and facilities has been recovered by the University through this fee.

All new international students studying at Trinity Western University will be automatically enrolled in the guard.me Canada health insurance plan for 3 months. This plan is mandatory for all new international students studying in Canada and is a condition of studying at TWU. The coverage period is based on the program start date.

The interim medical charge is a onetime, non-refundable fee of $160 and will be charged to the student account. Students can apply to opt-out of this charge only if they have valid MSP coverage for the entire 3-month period.  There is a deadline to apply to opt-out.
