JAPA 102	JAPA 102 Introduction to Japanese Course Credits: 3 An introduction to modern Japanese language and culture for students with no knowledge of Japanese. Basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills are taught, along with cultural components. Includes instruction on using computer software to produce Japanese scripts on an English keyboard. Prerequisite(s): JAPA 101 NB: Native Japanese speakers or students who have studied Japanese at this level may not take this course for credit. Higher levels may be offered by directed study. RUSS 101	RUSS 101 Introduction to Russian Course Credits: 3 An introduction to the Russian language and culture. Basic skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking are taught, as well as various aspects of life and culture in countries where Russian is spoken.
RUSS 102	RUSS 102 Introduction to Russian Course Credits: 3 An introduction to the Russian language and culture. Basic skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking are taught, as well as various aspects of life and culture in countries where Russian is spoken. Prerequisite(s): RUSS 101
SPAN 101	SPAN 101 Introduction to Spanish Course Credits: 3 This course is an introduction to the Spanish language and culture for students with little or no previous knowledge of Spanish. The course covers basic grammar, listening, speaking, reading of simple texts and writing skills.. NB: Students with more than two years of high school Spanish or native speaker ability cannot take SPAN 101 for credit. See instructor for entry levels.
SPAN 102	SPAN 102 Introduction to Spanish Course Credits: 3 This course is an introduction to the Spanish language and culture for students with some knowledge of Spanish. This is a continuation of SPAN 101 course; grammar, listening, speaking, reading and writing skills will be further developed. Prerequisite(s): SPAN 101 or permission. SPAN 201	SPAN 201 Intermediate Spanish Course Credits: 3 This course provides an increased understanding of Hispanic culture and Spanish language through the review and expansion of grammar; including a strong emphasis on oral skills, writing, comprehension, and pronunciation. Prerequisite(s): SPAN 101, 102, or instructor's consent.
SPAN 202	SPAN 202 Intermediate Spanish Course Credits: 3 This course provides an increased understanding of Hispanic culture and Spanish language through the review and expansion of grammar; including a strong emphasis on oral skills, writing, comprehension, and pronunciation. Prerequisite(s): SPAN 101, 102, or instructor's consent.
SPAN 301	SPAN 301 Advanced Written and Oral Spanish Course Credits: 3 This course emphasizes the development of oral and written skills based on advanced grammar. It includes an examination of different topics of popular Hispanic culture. Prerequisite(s): SPAN 201, 202, or instructor's consent.
