IDEAS THAT INSPIRE

Ever wonder how a course you’re taking now will help you in the future? You aren’t the only one. Plus, there’s good news. Foundations courses will help you envision how a Christian liberal arts education from Trinity Western sets you up for success—not just in your career but in life. Think of it like the map on your phone. It shows you your destination—and how to get there.

What this looks like in practical terms:

You’ll learn how to carry out sound academic research

  • to improve your information literacy (and discern “fake news” from real, for example)
  • to help you develop and express complex ideas in a clear, precise and engaging way, and with authority

You’ll be exposed to a wide range of historically and culturally significant works and ideas

  • to prepare you to recognize and discern the meaning and importance behind ground-breaking ideas
  • to help you negotiate your way around, and see the connections between, information from different ways of thinking

You’ll be immersed in religious, philosophical and scientific approaches to learning

  • to enable you to integrate both reason and faith in your search for truth

You’ll understand the importance of ethics and morals in your search for, and how you apply, knowledge

  • to encourage you toward acts of Christ-like service in the world (how great is that!)
