About Us
The Centre for Calling & Career Development exists to practically prepare students to design and build meaningful, impactful, and sustainable lives after graduation.
We are stewards of a campus-wide calling & career ecosystem: a collaborative network of faculty, staff, alumni, and employers working together to equip students for lifelong calling & career readiness. Through this ecosystem, students encounter vocational discernment and career-connected learning in classrooms, advising conversations, co-curricular programs, and industry projects, ensuring that calling & career development is woven into the entire university experience.
In support of the University vision that “Every Graduate is Equipped,” we serve as guides in helping students connect and articulate all the facets of their experiences—academic, co-curricular, work, and life—into meaningful work and purpose. We walk alongside students as they Discover who they are, what they believe, and what they are called to do in the world, Equip them with tools, resources, connections, and experiences that will Launch them well into their future careers.
We actively ask life-defining questions to encourage and challenge students to think deeply:
- “Who am I?”
- “What do I believe and value?”
- “What am I called to do in the world?”
As "Designing Your Life" authors Bill Burnett and Dave Evans suggest, it’s less about “What do you want to be when you grow up?” and more about “Who or what do you want to grow into?” We want to deconstruct the myth of the “one best possible plan” or single career path. Instead, we affirm that vocation and career emerge through curiosity, exploration, and discernment—often along multiple pathways forward. Within our career ecosystem, students are supported, resourced, and inspired to pursue a life of calling, contribution, and growth.
