NURS 360	NURS 360 Person-Centred Palliative Approach Course Credits: 3 Focus is on how to provide a person-centered palliative approach to care for a growing population of individuals who have progressive life-limiting conditions, and their family caregivers. Prerequisite(s): 100- and 200- level nursing courses and other non-nursing prerequisites designated on curricular pattern
NURS 370	NURS 370 Nursing in Global Contexts Course Credits: 3 Focuses on the application of planetary and global health concepts such as sustainability, capacity building, global burden of disease and social/ecological/structural determinants of health in a global health context. Promotes self-reflection, cultural humility, leadership development, and intersectoral communication and collaboration. Explores the historical, economic, political, religious, and geographical contexts, and their influence on the host community’s local healthcare systems and health of individuals and populations. Collaboratively examines specific health challenges of the host community and existing community development projects. Prerequisite(s): NURS 200, 232, 233. NB: NURS 227 can be taken as co-requisite.

NURS 412	NURS 412 Nursing Care of Adults with Complex Illness Course Credits: 3 This course focuses on nursing care of adults experiencing complex conditions with a focus on surgical care in hospital and community-based settings. Emphasis is placed on the nursing process considering factors that influence wellness in the midst of illness, pathophysiology of selected conditions, and sociocultural influences in health care. Prerequisite(s): NURS 100, 200, 300 level courses and other non-nursing prerequisites designated on curricular pattern Co-requisite(s): NURS 413
NURS 413	NURS 413 Clinical Practice: Adult III Course Credits: 4 This course focuses on experiential learning in the provision of nursing care for adults with complex acute and chronic illnesses who are recovering from surgical procedures. Emphasis is on the delivery of safe, client-centered and evidence-informed health care to adult clients. Clinical reasoning is emphasized in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. NURS 424	NURS 424 Professional Ethics Course Credits: 3 Key elements of professional nursing practice are explored through reading and discussion and applied in the development of a personal professional practice model. These key elements include theoretical and theological foundations of nursing, application of relevant theory to practice, critical analysis of pertinent nursing issues, ethical thinking and decision making, therapeutic relational aspects of client care, and responsible communication with clients, colleagues, and the public. NURS 434	NURS 434 Leadership in Nursing Course Credits: 3 Key concepts and processes of leadership are explored as they apply to nursing and health care. Students have the opportunity to examine and develop leadership skills required in contemporary nursing practice. Exercises promote the development and application of values and philosophies of nursing leaders within a Christian worldview Prerequisite(s): 100, 200, 300 level nursing courses and other non-nursing prerequisites designated on curricular pattern
