At Trinity Western University, we study leadership as a discipline—the intentional process of serving, influencing, and working with others toward meaningful and shared purposes. Students engage leadership theory and research while developing the knowledge and practical capabilities needed to navigate complex challenges and lead effectively in diverse contexts.

Grounded in TWU's Christian identity, our approach gives particular attention to servant leadership, exemplified in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. With undergraduate and graduate programs serving a range of professional contexts, the Department of Leadership prepares students to lead with wisdom, integrity, and a commitment to serving others.

Dean's Message

Welcome to the Department of Leadership.

There is a Zulu greeting that has become very meaningful to me: Sawubona—“I see you, you are important to me, and I value you.” It reflects something I hope every student experiences in our Department: that leadership begins with seeing people, recognizing their worth, and understanding that each person brings a story, experiences, and perspectives that matter. Whether you are beginning your university journey, returning to education after years in the workplace, or preparing for the next chapter of your professional life, we are delighted that you are considering Trinity Western University.

Our faculty bring rich academic, professional, and lived experience to the classroom. Together with the experiences our students bring from diverse cultures, professions, and communities, we create a vibrant learning environment where you will be challenged, encouraged, and supported as you grow.
