Program Outcomes

Graduates of TWU’s History program will have developed:

  • Historical literacy and imagination that includes a deep appreciation of and attentiveness to the complexities of the global human experience from the ancient to modern world.
  • Experience in finding, filtering, contextualizing, and synthesizing complex sources of information of varied types (i.e. print, digital, visual, oral, data) into clear, coherent arguments that can be presented in multiple forms relevant in academic, professional, and/or popular settings.
  • Analytical practices and varied research techniques to engage with complex types of historical evidence and diverse theoretical and ideological perspectives.
  • Competencies in reading, writing, research, and oral communication valued and applicable in community and professional settings.
  • Transferable skills necessary to act as informed, responsible, and empathetic citizens who understand their own and other societies and the role of historical thinking to bring reconciliation to a broken world.
