Summer Housing

Information for Summer 2024

Summer sessions start on April 29th, 2024 end on August 19th 2024 


Eligibility

To be eligible for Summer Apartment Housing at TWU, you must:

  • Be a registered student for the Fall or Spring of the Current Academic year
  • Be in good financial standing with the university (No financial hold on your account)
  • Be in good standing as it relates to the Student Code of Conduct
  • Complete the online application and sign the Residency Agreement within the application

Not eligible: 

  • Students that will come to the next Fall but have not been students of the Current Academic year will NOT be eligible to apply for Student Summer Housing.

But there is an option to book the accommodation on TWU campus by submitting a request to conferences@twu.ca.


How to Apply

  1. Log into the student portal at https://ics.twu.ca/ICS/ 
  2. Select “Housing” from the top menu bar 
  3. Scroll down to where it says “Housing Application”

There you should be able to see the application options, selecting the  "Summer Housing Application".   

Milestones

  • The housing application is open from March 1st to First day of summer sessions. 
  • The main Placement reveal is on April 1st  
  • Change request accepted only until April 21st   
  • Move in date is April 29th after 4 p.m. The keys should be picked up at the Student Hub office. 
  • No housing deposit is required.
  • After the first day of summer sessions, the charge is nonrefundable (Full summer, 2 months or a month)

April 29th - May 31st (1 month): 
June 1st - June 30th (1 month): 

Fraser 
Fraser Apartments have one or two bedrooms, a full kitchen and bath, small storage area and living room. 
2 bedroom - double occupancy room (4 people)      $750/per person 
1 bedroom - double occupancy room (2 people)      $770/per person 

 
April 29th - June 30th (2 months):

Fraser 
Fraser Apartments have one or two bedrooms, a full kitchen and bath, small storage area and living room. 
 
2 bedroom – double occupancy room (4 people)     $1500 per person 
1 bedroom - double occupancy room (2 people)      $1540 per person 

 
Full Summer (April 29th – August 19th) 

Jacobson  
2 or 3 bedroom apartment style, single and double occupancy bedrooms (up to 6 people). A typical Jacobson Pod consists of three double occupancy bedrooms sharing two bathrooms and showers, a full kitchen (oven, refrigerator and microwave) and a comfortably furnished living room. Jacobson Pods are designed to be in between the style of living between apartments and dorms. 
2 or 3 bedroom - double occupancy (6 people)  $2000/per person  
2 or 3 bedroom - single occupancy (3-5 people) $3000/ per person 

McMillan  
1 or 2 bedroom apartment – double occupancy (up to 4 people). McMillan has a traditional setting including kitchen, living room, and bathroom, in 1 or 2 bedroom formats.  
2 bedroom - double occupancy (4 people)      $2600/ per person 
1 bedroom - double occupancy (2 people)      $2800/ per person  
 
July and August will only be available to apply through “Conferences”, or the Full summer option.   
Charges are fixed, they will not be prorated for late arrivals or early departures. 

All the changes and withdrawal requests should be done by April 21st 

 
Summer Extended Stay (August 19th – August 31st

Application for the Extended Stay will open May 1st and closes August 1st  

It is necessary to submit a ticket request and sign an Agreement. 


Eligibility

To stay on campus until the Fall semester starts, the student must (by August 1st date)

  • be a Summer Housing resident (full summer only), and 
  • be enrolled in classes for Fall, and 
  • their student account is in good standing 

The students can apply for the Extended stay from May 1, but the housing access will be denied on August 19th if the student is not eligible (even with one condition). 

Students will be placed to their Fall housing rooms.  

TWU Housing reserves the right to place the students to another temporary room (not the assigned Fall room).  


Costs 

$150 for housing for the whole period of August 19th- August 31st
$220 meal plan (12 days) for those in dorms. 
These nonrefundable charges will be applied by August 15th .


Early Arrivals

To be eligible for early arrival (August 19th - August 31st) to Housing at TWU, the student must:  

  • be an athlete registered in the group provided by their coaches (with the confirmed charges) 
  • be a TWUSA member registered in the group provided by their supervisor. 
  • be a chapel team member registered in the group provided by their supervisor 
  • be a student leader registered in the group provided by their supervisor. 

Other ways to stay on Campus for Summer 

For those who are not eligible to apply for TWU Summer Housing for students, or anybody who would like to stay on campus for the short period (one week etc.), there is an option to book the accommodation on TWU campus by submitting a request to conferences@twu.ca after February 1. 2024

The conference housing includes dorms and apartments.  

Prices and availability are on request. 

The payment is done by credit card (not through the student account) one week prior to the stay date.
