Men’s Basketball team plays in China

Trinity Western University’s Spartans men’s basketball team prepared for their U Sports season by playing against several university teams in China. In addition to providing a valuable experience for the Spartans players, the trip was intended to build stronger relationships between TWU and these Chinese universities.

The Spartans played four games in three different cities. In Hebei, China, the team opened its Chinese tour with an 88-54 win over Hebei University. Next they traveled to Tianjin City, where Kyle Coston’s 28 points and seven rebounds led them to an 85-78 victory over Tianjin Polytechnic. In Beijing, the Spartans played to a 78-78 tie against Renmin University, the first tie in Spartans men’s basketball since the team entered the U Sports in 1999. The team completed its tour with an 86-70 win over the Beijing Sports University.
