President Mark Husbands welcomes TWU students to the Fall 2021 semester in the following letter.
Dear TWU Students,
It is my privilege to welcome you to the 2021-22 academic year. Trinity Western University is a global Christian university with students from over 70 different nations and 6 continents. In many ways, we reflect the rich diversity of the global Church.
We strive to be a warm, welcoming, and wise place, where every student has the opportunity to discover, learn, and contribute. I am thrilled that you are a part of the TWU community.
As part of the Fall 2021 cohort, you are among the first to enter Trinity Western as we seek to work towards the fulfillment of our new vision to see every graduate equipped to think truthfully, act justly, and live faithfully for the good of the world and the glory of God.
Our University vision is an invitation to you. We are eager to see the many ways that you will contribute to and live out this expansive depiction of a meaningful life.
Our goal is to help you flourish beyond university. We are convinced that offering you a Christ-centered, supportive Liberal Arts university—a place to grow intellectually and spiritually, discover who you are, and deepen your sense of calling—is key to enabling you to become all that God has created and prepared you to be.
As you look out upon the world, it is evident that societies are in desperate need of hope and healing. As TWU graduates, you will have the opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of others through your education, preparation, and yes, through your faith and trust in God.
As you embark on your classes, and contribute to the life and achievement of your class, teammates, and broader community at TWU this year, my prayer is that you will experience the loving presence and truth of Christ in your life. In your friendships, families, work contexts, and during your time with your professors—may you find the truth, mercy, and joy of Christ.
May you have an absolutely wonderful learning experience this year at TWU.
