Remember the love of Jesus Christ

Good Friday message from TWU President

Dear TWU community,

What a deep comfort it is to know that we have a God who truly understands us, who has experienced what it means to be fully human (Heb. 4:15).

At Easter, Christians take time to remember the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. John’s Gospel teaches us that Jesus entered the world and lived a holy and faithful life. Jesus, the light of the world, is “full of grace and truth.”

On Good Friday, we reflect upon the depth of God’s love for each of us. While he knew no sin, Jesus—the lamb of God—offered himself in our place. He was a perfect, complete, and unrepeatable sacrifice for our sins.

Out of deep and abiding love for us, Jesus entered death to free us from its grip and power. In so doing, Christ forever changed the relationship between God and humanity. On Good Friday, we confess that Christ is our redeemer.

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" 2 Cor. 5:21 (NIV).

Grace and peace,

Mark Husbands, Ph.D.

President & Vice-Chancellor
