TWU to celebrate 50 years with a weekend-long birthday bash

To commemorate its 50th anniversary, Trinity Western University will host a weekend-long celebration from September 14 to 15, 2012. The open house weekend is jam-packed with free events and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

“The campus will be buzzing,” said Scott Campbell, VP Alumni and Weekend Committee Chair. “For 50 years, Langley has been home to TWU—so it will be special to have the greater community participating with students, staff, faculty and alumni in events and activities that celebrate the University.”

An Evening to Celebrate 50 is a family-friendly, community-wide reception on Saturday evening. This event will include video shorts, live performances, music, cake, and light-hearted comedy. All are invited to this capstone weekend event. Get your tickets to this free event here. RSVP on our Facebook page.

TWU WANTS TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU!

Trinity Western University is grateful to have been a part of the vibrant community in the Lower Mainland for the last 50 years. In recognition of the support these communities have shown TWU, the University is inviting you to celebrate with us during this exciting weekend!

In addition to lively performances, there will be a Celebrating our Intellectual Heritage lecture series, ecological tours, open houses, an art gallery, a special archival installation, a video booth, the high ropes course, a barbeque, Spartans soccer games, a kid’s area, a hospitality tent, and contests and prizes.

The University will host its first ever TEDxTWU on Saturday, September 15. Created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading,” TEDxTWU welcomes all to come and listen to a variety of topics from campus and community speakers. Tickets are limited.

Many of the events and activities are free, and some require an RSVP. For details about these events and more go to the 50th Anniversary Weekend website: www.twu.ca/50weekend
