TWU hosts Richmond Chamber of Commerce networking event at Minoru location, offers city new graduate program in 2022

“Over the course of 2021…we served over 1,000 students in our virtual classrooms. We are grateful for the continued engagement we have had with our students, and for the extraordinary perseverance of our faculty and staff.”

— Rebecca Swaim, Executive Director of TWU Richmond

As the BC Vaccine Card program allows for the safe resumption of some in-person events, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, together with Trinity Western University, hosted a “fun and free” members-only networking event on Tuesday, October 26.

A brand-new Executive MBA program for senior business leaders will be offered in Richmond, at TWU’s Minoru location, in 2022. MBA and EMBA classes are scheduled over the weekend, so working professionals can complete their MBAs without interruptions to their careers.

In 2015, TWU opened its first Richmond site, located above the City Centre Community Centre at 5900 Minoru Blvd. High enrolment growth led to this first location hitting capacity, and in 2020, TWU opened a second Richmond site at Lansdowne Centre.

Leaders across business, government and education

During Tuesday’s Richmond Chamber of Commerce event at TWU, close to 100 members of Richmond’s business community and leadership were present.

Through the past two years of interaction with Richmond businesses, Dr. Liu was deeply impressed by the resilience and innovation demonstrated by Richmond businesses during the challenging COVID time.

“TWU MBA programs view Richmond as the center of growth, not only in the number of students but also in societal impact,” said Dr. Chen Liu, Director of MBA Programs.

“We want to be the powerhouse for Richmond businesses, through the graduate business courses we offer, the professional and consulting expertise of our world-class faculty, and the powerful alumni network and international connections that the MBA programs build throughout the year.”

TWU is home to one of the largest MBA programs in B.C., with over 600 Trinity Western MBA students studying across Canada, and globally in the cities of Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjin.

“Over the course of 2021…we served over 1,000 students in our virtual classrooms,” said Rebecca Swaim, Executive Director of TWU Richmond. “We are grateful for the continued engagement we have had with our students, and for the extraordinary perseverance of our faculty and staff.”
