TWU President awarded Diamond Jubilee Medal

In a ceremony on January 31, Premier Christy Clark presented 85 British Columbians—including TWU President Jonathan S. Raymond, Ph.D.—with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of their leadership to BC communities.

“The British Columbians being recognized today come from different backgrounds, and different paths in life, but their common desire to help their friends, family, and neighbours has made our province a better place for all of us,” said Clark. “As pillars in our communities we find their leadership inspirational, and this medal is a symbol of our gratitude.”

Created to mark the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne, the Diamond Jubilee Medal honours the significant contributions and achievements of Canadians.

“This special honour came as a great surprise,” said Raymond, “and it really represents the achievements of the Trinity Western University community. I’m just grateful for the opportunity to serve at Trinity Western, as TWU serves the people of British Columbia and Canada.”
