“We’re looking forward to welcoming students back to TWU, and developing the community that has prepared thousands of graduates to make an impact all around the world.”
— Dr. Phil Laird, VP of Innovation, Global and Academic Partnerships
Over the past year, Trinity Western has been strategizing to ensure that it emerges from the pandemic, a more Christ-centered, student-focused, innovative, and financially viable University.
After receiving its largest-ever enrolment in 2020, TWU eagerly anticipates welcoming students back on campus in September.
In a recent virtual Town Hall, TWU leaders presented exciting new developments that await students as they return to studies this fall.
One of the most noticeable additions to the TWU Langley campus is the brand new Robert G. Kuhn Building.
“It is one of the most significant building projects in the University’s history,” said Dr. Phil Laird, VP of Innovation, Global and Academic Partnerships.
Watch the June 30, 2021 "TWU Return to Fall" Town Hall:
The Robert G. Kuhn Building is the new home of the School of Business and TWU Global. It will also be a hub for international student programs and services delivered through the Global Engagement Office (GEO).
The building’s first floor is comprised of new classrooms to service the entire student body. The second floor features meeting rooms and project rooms for the School of Business, dedicated space for MBA and Executive MBA classes, plus a centre for development of business professionals. The third floor provides meeting rooms and office space for faculty and staff of the School of Business, while the fourth floor is home to TWU Global and features rooms outfitted with technology for global interaction.
Thanks to the support of generous donors who desire to support the growth, learning, and formation of TWU students, this brand-new $35 million facility will be completed without incurring any debt.
New facilities and improvements throughout campus
TWU has been engaged in the largest comprehensive renovation project in the University’s history. In addition to the Robert G. Kuhn building, TWU has invested in a newly-renovated Trinity Commons, a space for studying and socializing in the heart of campus. To foster greater community, TWU has opened an outdoor pavilion, which features a fireplace, overhead heating and long tables with laptop charging stations.
To provide the School of Education with a modern, inviting, and suitable classroom facilities to prepare the next generation of educators, TWU has renovated its Devries Centre. A long-standing friend of the University has donated $2.2 million to transform the appearance and use of this building, doubling its classroom space, adding offices, meeting rooms, and a fully renovated lecture hall.
“TWU has been getting ready for all of you to get back to community together on our campus,” Dr. Laird said during the Town Hall. “We are excited to show you all the new amenities when you return this fall.”
“A new season is upon us very soon,” he continued.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming students back to TWU, and developing the community that has prepared thousands of graduates to make an impact all around the world.”
