Welcome to fifty

On January 19, 2012, Trinity Western University will host a free concert featuring The Left and TWU’s own Paper House, to kick off the celebration of its 50th Anniversary. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community are invited to attend the free concert at Enarson Gym on the TWU campus.

“This year marks an important milestone for TWU—our 50th anniversary!” said TWU President, Jonathan S. Raymond, “The theme to celebrate TWU’s anniversary is Rooted and Reaching.”

The University represents a people ‘rooted’ in Christ and the rich history of the past 50 years. It is a community of diverse talents and perspectives, committed to truth, compassion, reconciliation, and hope. TWU also represents a people ‘reaching’ in pursuit of learning, discovery, service, and scholarship. The theme celebrates the road TWU has travelled to become the vibrant community it is today.

Musical headliners, The Left, hail from Langley, BC. They have been writing music together for over ten years, and in 2009 won Vancouver’s The Peak Performance Project. They have worked with award-winning artists and producers including performing in opening spots for 54-40, Hedley, The Trews, Tal Bachman, Blind Melon, and were a featured performance at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Their first full-length album, Cycles, was released on January 10, 2012.

Concert goers are invited to enter-to-win an iPad2. More special prizes and give-aways will be made available throughout the night. Maximum capacity for the concert is 700, so be sure to arrive early to get in. Doors open at 7:30, and the concert will begin at 8:00 pm.
