Jeehoon Kim, PhD

Affiliate Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies
I care deeply about the church, and I enjoy helping students read Scripture with care and wrestle honestly with the complexities of life and faith. My hope is that, through the patient study of God’s Word, they grow in wisdom and serve Christ and his people in churches and communities across cultures.

Dr. Jeehoon Kim is a scholar and teacher of the Old Testament with particular interest in biblical theology and the wisdom books within the canon of Scripture. His teaching centres on helping students read Scripture carefully and think theologically as they prepare for faithful ministry in the church.

Jeehoon’s research considers how biblical wisdom speaks to the realities and complexities of human life and invites believers to deeper trust in God. His work engages ongoing discussions in Old Testament theology and the interpretation of wisdom literature.

He spent his early childhood in the United States and the United Kingdom before returning to Korea during his school years. Growing up in immigrant church communities shaped his appreciation for cross-cultural ministry and theological education in global contexts. Jeehoon has also served in cross-cultural ministry in churches in South Korea, Vancouver (BC), and Toronto (ON) for over a decade. These experiences deepened his love for Scripture and for the life of the church, particularly among diaspora communities seeking to live faithfully in different cultural settings.

In his work in theological education, Jeehoon seeks to equip pastors and leaders serving diaspora churches around the world. He cares deeply about helping students read Scripture well, think theologically, and grow in wisdom as they serve Christ and his church.
