Joan Deeks, PhD

Joan Deeks has over 30 years of experience in corporate management, which includes holding senior positions with three major cities in the lower mainland as well as with the Vancouver Canucks sports franchise, where she served as the Director of People Development.
In 2000, Joan left her position with the Canucks to launch the Advantis Consulting Group, which provided leadership coaching, training, and organizational development to managers in Canada and USA.

As well as running her own company, Joan founded the HRMA Labour Relations Roundtable of BC, served as an adjunct university professor in leadership and management at two universities, was an active mentor to young corporate leaders, and the first consultant in Canada to be certified in the Hershey model of Situational Leadership.

Joan served as a Board Member with the Anglican Diocese of Canada which serves over 70 churches in Canada. In 2020, Joan was elected as a Board Member with the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA) which serves over 1,000 Anglican churches in Canada, USA, and Mexico. She is currently serving as a Human Resource Consultant with the ACNA.
