Joost Pikkert, PhD

Affiliate Associate Professor of Linguistics
I like fishing, intercultural work and teaching because they all demand immersing my imagination in another world with the intent of securing a meaningful connection with the one in the other world. Perhaps this is why Jesus chose fishermen as well.

Dr. Joost Pikkert worked for 20 years in Indonesia in the field of multilingual education, served for 8 years as Associate Professor and Academic Dean at Taylor College and Seminary and was a researcher for the Asia Development Bank. His publications are in linguistics, education, missiology, theology and agriculture.  He has taught in the areas of missiology, linguistics, education and multilingual education.
